The Highlanders, currently sitting in second place in the New Zealand conference and fifth overall, are coming off a fantastic away win against conference rivals the Hurricanes last week.
That victory was built around a massive defensive effort, and they will be looking to keep the pressure on the Chiefs, who sit atop the New Zealand conference, with a win today.
The Crusaders, in stark contrast, have come off a disappointing loss at home to the table-topping Sharks.
They will be heading to Dunedin with the intention of putting that performance firmly in the rear view mirror.
Currently sitting in third place in the conference, the Crusaders will not want to lose touch with the teams at the top of the log.
The southern derby is historically one of the most intense and hard fought rivalries in Super Rugby.

Not if you believe what Jake White preaches in terms of Rugby philosophy, there wasn't enough rolling mauls, kicking for territory, strangling defense and killing off ruck ball. Too much running, passing and support play to be a truly entertaining game such as the Sharks/Brumbies match two weeks ago.

Smith was awesome but Dagg was also very good. Smith showed last season he can be just as effective on the wing so I don't see why it has to be a choice, especially with Piautau injured.
