[VIDEO] Cronulla Sharks vs Manly Sea Eagles: NRL highlights, scores

By The Roar / Editor

The Cronulla Sharks clash with the Manly Sea Eagles at Remondis Stadium on Saturday evening. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:30pm (AEST)

These sides last me in Round 6, a match which saw the Sea Eagles run out a 24-4 victory on a wet and windy day at Brookvale Oval.

The Sea Eagles curently sit in second on the NRL ladder, and with the Panthers enjoying a bye this round, find themselves with the opportunity to lead the competition by rounds end.

Despite a lofty spot on the NRL ladder, the Sea Eagles have been in patchy form as of late, and have struggled to string together consecutive wins.

Their cause has not been helped by the forced omission of Blues back-rower Anthony Watmough.

The veteran Sea Eagle earned himself a date with the NRL judiciary on Thursday night following a dangerous throw charge on Queensland’s Nate Myles during Game 2 of State of Origin.

Maroons star, Daly Cherry-Evans has been named for the clash, but looks unlikely to start with a knee injury still causing him issues.

It has been a tough stretch for the Sharks – they haven’t won since Round 8 and their mid-season form has been awful to say the least.

But a string of important names feature on the inclusions for the Sharks could provide a much needed boost.

Todd Carney, Anthony Tupou and Paul Gallen are all amongst the inclusions who are set to start on Saturday.

After leading his side to their first Origin victory in nine years on Wednesday night, Gallen will be confident he can inspire the Sharks to claim an upset victory against the Sea Eagles.

Yeah pretty sure, despite what anyone else says, as soon as try merged with Illawarra they became a new identity. You can't have it both ways by saying "yeah we're a new team but were still the dragons".

When will the Sharks learn what league is all about. Nearly 50 years and the only trophies (except for mid-week) are all made of wood. When first formed they openly stated that they would replace St.George in a few years and the Dragons would fold. Nearly half a century and it seems that they are still trying to get the right combination.

Sharks won't get the spoon, they are a much better team when fully fit than their ladder position reflects.... Eels favourites for the title? You normally write ridiculous things but that's right up there.

Too good, backlines are poles apart..Dogs paid overs for Lichaa...whatever the Sharks paid for Ayshford was overs...Mick Gordon is the best fullback in the club,Gardener isn't a first grader nor is Faimuu Brown...coach Sharp is not helping this team whatsoever and letting down the supporters...the standard of play is just unacceptable and the club has to move on it..

This might seem an odd selection at this stage but my favourites for the premiership are Warriors, Storm and Eels. Might seem a bit irrational but I just have the feeling that this game is going to spring some surprises in the latter half of the season. As predicted at Christmas, Raiders and Sharks to battle it out for the spoon.

Lol gasnier is by far the worst commentator in league... I don't think his ever got a tip right! I must admit that I thought there was a slight chance of an upset but wouldn't have been brave enough to back the sharks. Manly too good, they are still the premiership favourites in my opinion.

Ha Ha Ha They don't call it shit park for nothing. Remondis knew what they were doing when they moved in there but they are experts after all. Cronulla have now not scored a single point in over a month and their failure to post a single point in 269 minutes of football makes them the first side to be held to nil three matches in a row for the first time in the game's 106-year history. A nice title to add to that of the longest ever losing streak ever in NRL history.

Because they are cheats and continually drag this great game down to the level of the gutter.
