West Ham United kick off their season at their famous Boleyn Ground, as they host London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Join us on The Roar for live scores and commentary from 12 midnight (AEST).

Spurs begin yet another new era under their 10th manager in 13 years.

Mauricio Pochettino takes charge, and will hope to turn fortunes around for the under-performing North London club.

Sammy Allardyce will look to continue his attacking form, which saw a revival of sorts for the Hammers last season.

West Ham will be without star striker Andy Carroll and new recruit Enner Valencia, who have both succumbed to injury. They will also be without new left back Carl Jenkinson and Guy Demel. Their third choice left back, Joey O’Brien, looks set to be in the starting XI.

The Hammers newest recruits Aaron Cresswell, centre-half Cheikhou Kouyate, and the skilfull Mauro Zarate are set to make their debuts, while Diego Poyet looks to be debuting off the bench.

For the Spurs, they are sweating on the fitness of Nacer Chadli, Mousa Dembélé, and Paulinho, whose fitness levels aren’t up to scratch, but look set to rush back Jan Vertonghen to compensate for injuries.

Prediction
The Hammers will get the job done over a injury-riddled Spurs outfit. 2-1 West Ham United.
