Manchester United’s confidence has taken a battering in the opening two rounds as they have reached a new level of mediocrity.

As a result, this match appears poised for the taking for Burnley.

Both teams will be looking to get their first win of the season tonight.

The home side does not have too many issues on the injury front, aside from the fact that they will be without Sam Vokes, who is out until January with a knee issue.

While United could field an 8 a side, injured side, with a mammoth injury bill haunting them so early on.

Tonight they will be without Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Da Silva, Shinji Kagawa, Chris Smalling, Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard and Marouane Fellaini, while also not having Marcos Rojo available due to permit issues.

On the bright side, Angel Di Maria, the new angel set to reinvigorate this United side, will surely be in the starting eleven.

The pressure will be on Di Maria, as he was told by former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in the lead up to the match.

He won’t have to deal with a boisterous Old Trafford crowd this week, but his performance will be closely scrutinised by all United fans.

Prediction:
1-1 draw.

Watching Wellington Phoenix and Perth Glory play in the A-League is far more entertaining then this game. Zee, you did say at the start that LVG has a mmammoth job ahead post Moyes. That may be the case, but I still think (sadly) that Man U will come good and still be a contender for the premiership

Not the greatest performance. But some promising signs. Keen to see how this team evolves and comes together. I'm sure we'll be stronger once Herrara, Rojo, Di Maria and Blind settle in.
