A high quality contest awaits as top four hopefuls the Penrith Panthers travel to Brookvale Oval to take on potential minor premiers the Manly Sea Eagles. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 3:00pm AEST.
Manly still find themselves in a strong position to claim first position on the ladder despite suffering a ten point defeat to the Eels last week.
The Sea Eagles raced to a 12 nil lead against Parramatta only to succumb 22-12 in an entertaining game of football.
Despite recent hiccups against the Rabbitohs and the Eels, Manly are back at fortress Brookvale for the first time in a month and should be favoured to fire against the Panthers.
Penrith are coming off a 24-10 defeat to Melbourne but have competed very well all season. They do however, seem to lack the personnel required to beat the true heavyweights of the NRL.
The Panthers remain winless against top four opposition this season, having suffered convincing defeats to the Rabbitohs and Roosters. It remains to be seen if they have what it takes to push the Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval.
A first round defeat to Melbourne remains Manly’s only home loss for the year and they will be keen to preserve such a great home record against the Panthers this afternoon.
A win for the Sea Eagles today would also surely wrap up the minor premiership so there is plenty on the line for the home side.
Coach Geoff Toovey would have been annoyed by Manly’s capitulation to the Eels last week and will be expecting a complete performance from his side.
If the Sea Eagles do click, they could win this easily.
The Panthers however, should be expected to put up a fight. The battle between halves Peter Wallace, Jamie Soward and Kieran Foran and Daly Cherry-Evans should dictate which team wins this afternoon.
With both sides boasting considerable firepower this game could well be one of the best of Round 25.
Tip: Manly by 14

I think he is still carrying a bed niggling injury and putting on a brave face. Still to win like that it was a very good match.

No way mate , Success is in our DNA , I like what I see in our junior players , every player at Manly is important , we always evolve , our history shows a side that's always competitive regardless , it's why where hated , admired , I'm looking forward to what's around the corner , as long as legends like Arko, Bozzo, Des , Tooves are involved (some past) then where in good hands !

Liatrevlis, I get what your saying, I guess I won't believe they want out until it happens. I always thought they would finish as they should Manly men, I guess they thought the same. In todays game three players stepped up when we needed it most watmough, snake and matai. If they leave we will be a bottom 8 team I have no doubt about this. And then theres foran, will he re-sign if his mates are gone and we are losing? Think souths Sammy and inglis they become a bottom 8 team. I also have no doubt if that happens we will rise again.

ASADA BS? I enjoy watching Manly play mate, great halves and backline but don't think you have the forwards to win it this year. Roosters Cows GF.

Pelican. Mate what are your thoughts on DCE? He played a disgusting game of footy today. The 2nd half he did nothing but kick. Brett took over his duties and won us the game. Iv never seen cherry play so bad. Ever. He never dummys anymore I loved his massive show and go. No more. What happened to him?

Mate it's the changing of the guard , I'm by no means forgetting what Choc, Snake , and Matai have done for us but for the sake of moving forward and puttn this to bed let em go ! We will rise just like we always do but in resent weeks players have disrespected the club ! The club owes no one , Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will never be held to ransom by anyone , it's a privellage to play for this club

Screw the Cows. Have the biggest advantage of any team in the comp. Forcing Rugby League teams to play in the tropics is a sick joke. Draw the line at Brissie or scrap the NRL.
