How Twitter reacted to Jarryd Hayne moving to the NFL

By The Roar / Editor

In case you were living under a rock, or you aren’t privy to an internet connection, then you probably already know Jarryd Hayne is on his way to America to play football.

Here’s how the rugby league world is reacting to Hayne’s shock move to the NFL from the NRL.

It’s an interesting mix of positivity, negativity and concern about how much athletes like Hayne are being challenged in the NRL.

Others have expressed concern over whether Hayne will make it in the sport, but we’ll let their tweets tell the story.

Whatever the case, while it’s sad for the NRL, if nothing else it’s got people talking!

Twitter will surely release their analytics at some point, but if Jarryd Hayne and #NFL weren’t trending on the site today, then we might eat all our hats.

Or something.

Anyway, let’s get to the tweets!

Fellow rugby league and code-hopping superstar Sonny Bill Williams had this to say.

The Parramatta Eels franchise had this to say of the press conference:

Willie Mason didn’t hold any punches either.

Roar expert Steve Turner was a little concerned, but not too much.

AS an ex-bulldogs and Storm player, I don't think you'll find Turner sucking up to Hayne, even if he did play a game for the blues.
