Australia vs India Test series: How to watch on TV, online and radio

By The Roar / Editor

The first Test is finally upon us, and there are a myriad of ways to tune in on the TV, radio or online.

HOW TO LISTEN TO THE CRICKET ONLINE AND ON RADIO

In what is sure to be a compelling and emotional match, there are still a great many questions still to be answered:

How aggressively will Australia play? Can India bounce back from their last disastrous tour Down Under? Is Clarke fit enough, mentally or physically to perform?

While Australia’s UAE tour against Pakistan left a lot of the viewing public in the dark, this time you’re spoiled for choice – so we’ve put together a comprehensive guide to keep up to date with the match whether you’re at the office, in the car or the comfort of your lounge room.

TV:
As always, Channel Nine’s Wide World of Sports has the rights for the summer of cricket.

The Channel Nine commentary team (sans Benaud) will be starting their coverage in Adelaide from 10:30am AEDT with the first ball to be bowled at 11:00am AEDT. For South Australians, that’s 10:30am local time.

Radio:
If you think Tubby and co do their best work when muted – you can tune in to Terry Alderman, Geoff Lawson, Jim Maxwell and Damien Fleming on ABC Grandstand.

They’ll be on-air from 10:30am AEDT and you can tune in on your respective frequency across Australia.

If you want to tune in online or via the Cricket Australia app, you will need an Australian Cricket Family account where you will have the option of listening to ABC Radio Grandstand or the Fairfax Radio coverage.

Note that you won’t be able to stream the cricket coverage from the Fairfax radio or Grandstand websites, so don’t even try! Cricket Australia website is the one to go to.

Online:
If you have a Cricket Australia live pass you can stream every ball on mobile, tablet and desktop.

But of course, if you want the best of the best – The Roar will have a live blog and highlights for every day of every game.

Social Media:
For regular updates and highlights, you can follow Cricket Australia, here; or ESPN Cricinfo, here. Of course, The Roar will be calling it too.

But, if you enjoy cricket coverage reimagined as obnoxious American baseball commentary, follow the always-hilarious US Cricket guy, here.

Happy watching!

Why do we vieweers have to put up with James Brayshaw- big bore with a droning voice, Ian Chappell - Great batsman. Would be in MY aussie best team, but a boring commentator, who says the same thing about three times in 2 sentences, and we dont need Mark Nicholas, a pommie old school tie boy who contributes nothing of value to the team; Give us Taylor, Healy, and Slater. Surely there must be another retired Aussie who would fill the bill.

Hi think Flemming has gone to Fairfax commentary, can anyone confirm? I don't know if it's just be but the ABC commentary has been really flat so far. Maybe it's related to the funding cuts but they sound disinterested and theirs a couple of new guys who just have no idea how to do radio commentary. I personally miss the Skull. I never thought it would ever happen but I've switched to Fairfax, the tones of Chappell and Bloefild and co, and even McGrath seems to be doing a good job. Sad that I have to put up with the horrible ads and product placements to get the good commentators.

I'm on my way down to the shops to buy a AM radio...sitting at work with two phones and a laptop AND still can't get a stream to play. Seriously I have all the technology and LESS cricket than my elderly neighbour with his 60 year old transistor radio set. Cricket Australia has ruined streaming live cricket. Their website is horribly clunky and the streams just don't work. Sure, you got everyone's email addresses and the chance to flog ads at them... BOO Cricket Australia! Just let ABC digital stream it from their website.

Used to mute Tubby and co and tune into ABC. Now I do not even have that satisfaction as I can not stand Geoff Lawson or Damien Fleming with his 'straya for Australia. Jim Maxwell has been around forever. How about a new voice for the cricket Aunty. Perhaps Peter Walsh. I used to like Glenn Mitchell. Must have retired. So pleased I do not have to listen to that inane laugh of "Skull" O'Keefe anymore. Looks like I might have to go back to Tubby, who sounds like he should be serving in a butcher's shop., Chapelli who waffles on his wooden tone and Lawry who, without his old sounding board...the late great Tony Greig, is now past his use by date. My favorite Pom, Mark Nicholas is doing a good job as host. But there was no one like the doyen of commentators Richie Benaud.
