Match recap

Final score – SEATTLE 28 – GREEN BAY 22

Seattle were down and out at half time, Wilson was nowhere with three interceptions and their running game was suffering. Even late in the 4th Quarter it was improbable they would complete the comeback but Wilson buried his demons and came up with three great drives to win it for Seattle. That last drive was glorious and after targeting Kearse on all four of his interceptions it was a perfect pass into his arms for the game winner.

Green Bay should have been up by 20+ at the half but blew some great chances to put a big score on the board. Rodgers to his credit came up with that game tying drive but in the end they played it too safe on their second last possession up by 5. One first down would have almost been game over and they chose to run it 3 times before punting.

This game will go down as a classic and the Seahawks will be heading to Arizona riding an emotional high. Words don’t do that comeback justice.

Now it’s off to Gillette Stadium for the Patriots and Colts. Stick around as Andrew Kitchener live blogs the game on The Roar.

It’s been a pleasure blogging this game.

Green Bay Packers
On one side you have Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers – arguably the best QB in the league leading the best offensive team in the NFL this season. They are top ten in passing yards, passing TDs, INT thrown and rushing TDs and just have a way of getting that first down.

Aaron Rodgers is one of the leading candidates for MVP and has made household names out of Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb with some big games in November. A Week One thrashing against the Seahawks will still be in the back of his mind as he takes the field to try and cap off an outstanding year so far.

Rodgers was reportedly playing through a calf strain in last week’s win over the Cowboys but has said that it shouldn’t be a problem for him this week. They need a fully fit Rodgers throwing precise bullets downfield to be able to break through this tight Seattle defence.

Speaking of defence, the Packers aren’t exactly a pushover on that end. They have only allowed over 21 points on four occasions this season but one of those games was against the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field.

Seattle Seahawks
On the other side you have the Seattle Seahawks and their Legion of Boom led defence. Ranked #1 in the league by a long margin they have only allowed just over 4,000 yards of offence total throughout the season. The next best team allowed 4,400 yards. Richard Sherman is a big part of the defensive monster that is the Seahawks but it’s a line-up that you don’t want to face even without Sherman roaming the field.

Having said that they haven’t faced a decent QB since either Eli Manning in Week 10 or Tony Romo in Week 6 if you don’t rate Eli.

They aren’t a one trick pony though with big game player, Russell Wilson, leading their charge on offence teaming up with RB Marshawn Lynch. Seeing Lynch in “Beast Mode” is a scary thing for the opposition and with the “12th Man” home crowd set to be fired up and very loud, the Packers D-Line will have to be on their game.

Prediction

With high winds expected, the roaring crowd and a Seahawks team in full flight this will be a tough game for the Packers. I don’t see Jordy Nelson breaking open for big yardage so the Packers will have to find other ways to break through this defence.

The Seahawks just look too good at home so I am backing them in.

Seahawks by 3.
