The Western Sydney Wanderers welcome the Wellington Phoenix to Penrith, where they hope to resurrect their very, very, very slim chances of making the top six. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 5:00pm (AEDT).

The boys from Wellington have already got a stellar two win record against the Wanderers thus far this season, so this will not be an easy feat for the home side.

The Wanderers make Penrith their home for the first time in two years, and they will need all the support they get to try and salvage something from this season.

They sit a crazy 15 points behind Melbourne City – you would think the champions of Asia could do a little better than that.

While the Phoenix are sitting quite nicely in fourth place, six points in front of Sydney FC.

Their dramatic 3-2 loss on Monday to the Roar will either spur them on, or deter them, as they are a really unpredictable side – so you never quite know.

Men to look out for this match has to be Tomi Juric and Takahagi who introduced himself nicely to the WSW crowd with his goal against City last week. They could be the two to undermine Ernie Merrick’s side.

Their star boys Matthew Spiranovic and Tomi Juric return from a decent Asian cup campaign, while Antony Golec is promoted to starting squad, while Mehbratu, Castelen and La Rocca all miss out through injury.

For Wellington, Lewis Italiano returns from injury while Hicks and Ridenton are promoted to the starting squad. Oliver Sail is omitted.

Prediction:
Wanderers 2-1 Win, I think the addition of Spiro and Juric will be the injection of energy and decency the Wanderers have been calling out for, and with a vocal home backing I can’t see them lose this one.
