An Australian cricket record crowd of 93,013 watched Sunday’s World Cup final at the MCG.

Organisers announced late in the New Zealand innings that more than 91,112 fans were inside the MCG.

That was the previous single-day crowd record, set on day one of the 2013 Boxing Day Test.

The previous one-day international record crowd was 87,182, set when Pakistan beat England to win the 1992 World Cup final at the MCG.
