How safe is Pellegrini's job right now?

By Constance / Roar Pro

The morale at Manchester City is beginning to run fairly low now as they slowly watch the title slip out of sight. It was once a two-horse race battle between City and Chelsea a few weeks back, but now the blue half of Manchester look unlikely to grab the title.

Manchester City are now focusing in building a strong relationship with players and staff as they look onto next season to re-group and re-ignite the spark in which saw them become one of the most feared English Premier League teams.

If Manchester City can manage to do this, then it would also do wonders for the coach as Manuel Pellegrini has come under a lot of scrutiny lately. He has been questioned as to whether or not he has had too many downs over the ups, and whether or not he should be taking his business elsewhere after failing to guide Manchester City to achieve their lofty expectations.

Pellegrini is completely aware that sometimes clubs go through bad spells, but with a line-up of some of the best players in world football, the side should be performing much better than they are. With an almost open chequebook at Man City, and considering some of the huge signings, the club’s owners would expect to challenge for several trophies every year.

Salvation could come from Sergio Aguero next season, but only if Manchester City can ward of potential buyers such as Real Madrid who are rumoured to want to acquire his services. Manchester City should do all they can in order to keep him as he holds the key to their return as a dominant force in the English Premier League. No one in the team posses his striking ability and tenacity to spot a chance when he sees one.

The end of the current season will see plenty of debate. Pellegrini can only hope that those talks don’t involve the process of finding potential managers for Manchester City. Whether or not he will be replaced will more than certainly fall on where Manchester City finish on the table.

Man City’s owners aren’t known for their patience.

Maybe he takes a hiatus then arsenal when the job opens? Atletico would be interesting if he were suited to spain. Couldnt see him at barca or real, but instead going there to take them down with a third force club. Agree he would be an odd fit for City. He's a unique character, can only see him at a handful of clubs.

Keeping it Puma with arsenal;) ....he does seem like a better fit for arsenal, has that aura they would need in a wenger replacement. But they have been coming good so would see him stick around. Or maybe he goes out on a high point?

Klopp at City would be a strange fit. The hipster manger at a oil rich big spender. Would almost rather Simeone go to City and Klopp go to Atletico. Going from the deafening Westfalen to the quiet peaceful Eastlands might be a bit of a shock to the system for poor ol Klopp :P

Klopp will end up either at Man City or Arsenal. The arse were sounding him out as a replacement for Wenger before he officially left Dortmund, even though Arsene has 2 years left on his contract.

Always was dependent on what was available as an alternative....not the best position for Pellegrini... Klopp must be in the mix, either directly or if he goes somewhere else in the epl it could trigger a bit of a domino effect....interesting summer coaching wise for sure...
