FIGHT PREVIEW

The UFC makes its way to The Philippines for a featherweight super fight! The main event sees former UFC Lightweight champion #2 Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar takes on former WEC champion (#3 Bantamweight) Urijah ‘The California Kid’ Faber. Join us on The Roar from 12am (AEST) for live coverage and round-by-round updates.

Since his razor-close decision loss to Jose Aldo (25-1) in his fight for the featherweight title, Frankie Edgar (17-4-1) has been on a tear in the UFC.

Coming off three-straight dominant victories, including a fight of the night performance against Charles Oliveira (19-4, 1NC) followed by the finishes of BJ Penn (16-10-2) and Cub Swanson (21-7), Edgar is one win away from another shot at the featherweight belt.

Edgar is one of the best wrestlers in the featherweight division, and arguably the boxer in the UFC. The Answer will be looking to stop Faber and assert himself as a number-one contender.

Coming off two straight submission victories, Urijah Faber will be moving up to featherweight for the first time since his WEC days, and earn the biggest victory of his career.

Eight of the California Kid’s last ten wins have come via submissions, most recently against Alex Caceres (10-7, 1NC) and Francisco Rivera (10-4, 1NC).

Faber is driven by his dream of winning a UFC championship. A win against Frankie Edgar would put him in prime position for a shot at either the bantamweight or featherweight title.

Prediction
Both men come into this bout with a similar skill set, expect a close fight that will go the distance.

Frankie Edgar via unanimous decision.

Will it be Frankie Edgar continue on his impressive tear, or can Urijah Faber get the biggest win of his career? Join us from 12am (AEST) to find out!

Frankie Edgar is the former UFC Lightweight champion, and many believe that he should still be the champion after a close split decision loss to Benson Henderson. After coming up just short against Jose Aldo, Edgar has been on a tear in the featherweight division. Winning his last three fights, and finishes in his last two against Cub Swanson and BJ Penn, Edgar wants another win and another shot at the title.

Fighting out of the blue corner is former WEC champion Urijah Faber. The only time Faber has ever lost in the UFC has been in title fights, and Faber is sick of being number two. Coming off two impressive submission wins since his controversial loss to then-champion Renan Barao, Faber knows he is just one win away from a shot at either the featherweight or bantamweight title, in what really is the biggest fight of his career.
