The game started off with a low-scoring first quarter that saw only two goals scored to Bontempelli and Bruce.

Jason Johannisen opened the second with a goal, the game remained a low-scoring affair with Darren Minchington, Maverick Weller and Jarrad Grant also scoring goals.

Josh Bruce opened the third with another goal with Tom Boyd hitting back just moments later. Tory Dickson kicked a goal from the corner, Liam Picken followed with a monster. Bailey Dale turned the tides for the Bulldogs kicking a goal in only his sixth game. Riewoldt kicked a goal in front of the sticks in the only other goal of the quarter.

The fourth quarter saw Toby McLean take a goal. He was soon followed by Lukas Webb who kicked his first career goal. Riewoldt took another great mark in front of the sticks, converting the set shot. Riewoldt’s attempt on goal went short but Bruce flew up to take the mark and slot in the goal.

The Saints left it too late for a comeback, attempting to scare the Bulldogs and draw the scores they couldn’t grab the win. The Saints will be proud of that match, strong signs ahead for St Kilda despite the loss.

St Kilda are fresh off the bye, able to catch a breath after their two-point win over the Dees in Round 11. With a 4-7 record for 2015, the Saints will be looking to improve.

The Bulldogs were sliding early in the season but regained their mojo with a massive 72-point victory over the Lions to give them a 6-5 win-loss record.

Will Minson will be keen to re-assert himself and demonstrate his skill and his contribution to the team. With Jordan Roughead moving into the ruck expect Minson to have a big game.

Last time the two teams met was in Round 6, St Kilda defeating the Bulldogs 94-87. In the last five, the Saints have won three, with the Bulldogs winning two.

Prediction
The Bulldogs will be far too strong this time around for the Saints.
