Round preview

It is the last major of the year and once again we are in for a thrilling final round.

Join The Roar for live scores of the tournament from 6am AEST as we see if Jason Day can finally get it done in a major.

It is fitting the two men that have dominated the leader board for the last couple of majors, Jason Day and Jordan Spieth, will tussle it out. But there are other outsiders that could make an impression.

Jason Day (-15)
Another major and another chance for Jason Day to finally slam that door shut.

In 6 of the last 11 majors, he has finished in the top 10.

At the British Open last month a birdie putt fell a couple of centimetres short. At the US Open, he was fighting vertigo.

So surely this will be his time. Nobody has putted better than Day this week.

Given he keeps his consistency and his experience there cannot be a better opportunity than this time around. But we have said that a few times now.

Jordan Spieth (-13)
Before he turned into the back nine on Saturday afternoon, Spieth was in the picture but perhaps not a real contender. Nine holes later, he shot -6 to be the favourite for the final round.

He only trails by one shot and he’s ability to lift his game to another level makes him the hot favourite to win his third major of the year.

Justin Rose (-12)
Had Justin Rose putted in the same manner as Day, he would well be the leader.

Rose’s approach shots have been scintillating but he has failed to capitalise on short putts. He has the experience of major, but he needs the putts to fall in if he is going to win.

Other Contenders
Brendan Grace (-12) are Martin Kaymer (-11) are other two that could push the leaders. Kaymer has won a major but it is Grace that could be a surprise. Grace was one of the leaders after 69 holes at the US Open this year, so he will only learn from the experience.

But in reality the final day looks like a three-way race. Will it be Jason’s day?

Join us for live scores from 6am AEST to find out.

Nice safe tee shot in the middle of the green for Jason Day. Long putt for birdie but he should secure a par. Spieth is also on the green but also has a lengthy putt for a birdie.
