Nathan Fyfe ruled out until AFL finals

By News / Wire

Nathan Fyfe won’t be seen for Fremantle until the AFL finals series kicks off after suffering an injury to his left leg.

The dashing midfielder and Brownlow Medal favourite has been diagnosed with periostitis; otherwise known as inflammation in the fibula.

Fremantle’s football operations boss Chris Bond said medical advice suggested the 23-year-old should be available again after a two-week break.

Fyfe will miss the home match with Melbourne on Sunday and Fremantle’s trip to play Port Adelaide in round 23.

After missing Round 18, Round 19 and most recently Round 21, Nathan Fyfe’s chances of taking home the Brownlow Medal have taken a serious hit.

By missing five of the final six rounds, Fyfe will need to have tallied a winning total by the end of Round 17, assuming he would be lucky to score many votes in Fremantle’s four-goal derby loss to the West Coast Eagles in Round 20.

That's the point. Goldy is fair like Fyfey is fair. Ball players. Mitchell is fair in the sense that while his mates in the MRP protect his snipes, he is officially fair.

Did you really just put Goldstein and Sam “knees” Mitchell in the same category? Goldy is a fair player.. while the latter is a dirty little sniper. Although they both may have received fines, they are not comparable.

Considering Goldstein and Mitchell have also been fined this year then I am sure you'll both be whining about them now with a chance of winning the medal too

Get one thing clear, Mikey. Mitchell is not fair. His origins are the gutter.

History also says that Goldstein, Mitchell and Gaff haven't won it. Does that mean Pridd I s gets it because history demands?

Mitchell has been unlucky to miss out in the past. Deserves one.

Ah...but they have won it by not polling in five matches. Any difference?

No player has ever won the Brownlow after missing 5 matches

More importantly, what are the chances he won't be available for the rest of the year!

Well at least Fyfe won't get reported in the last 2 weeks. Guaranteed to win Brownlow now.
