Great comment mate. Only those that can afford Foxtel should be able to watch the National side I suppose is your opinion. If we are to have the smartest, strongest and fastest you can't just have it so only the richest can watch a quality broadcast.

Irish Times, Independent and Examiner should have some good write ups before and during the RWC. None of it is behind a paywall. Get a VPN and watch the TV3 and ITV coverage. Both networks have players to watch it back later

They are still just throwing Rugby fans a few bones, putting on only 35% of the games free-to-air. The event is, for heaven's sake, a World Cup, and the world full of Rugby tragics like me would really want to see what the other nations in the final series are doing! God bless Foxtel, but (a) I can't afford it just for this rugby tournament, and (b) quite a lot of the games will be telecast at times when the usual rugby-fans' pubs are shut!

So whose lead comms in that bunch? ie Nine's Gordon Bray or Greg Clark equivalent? Can't stand Sutcliffe, BTW, but I'll be watching on Fox sports.

Benn Robinson has also been announced as a member of the team Has to be better than listening to the PLONKERS on FOXTEL...

Foxtel Go app has replays of the Rugby Championship, so I assume it will be there for the world cup, usually comes out the next day. The USA VS AUS games was also available the following day on demand. (FREE)

Would've been nice to have more, but much better than expected given the ARU's recent history with managing free-to-air rugby.... Their choice of games outside the WBs are good ones as well - quality teams in what should be tight encounters.

Ireland cover the sport well and in some countries with no rugby profile they getting more live games on FTA than in Oz.

Little is correct, far too little, how can you be satisfied with this? Most games are in the odd hours yet they still cant broadcast the whole tournament on the second channel....PATHETIC and I blame the ARU for shortchanging the ragged Oz rugby fan yet again!

I'm surprised Channel 9 has been allowed anywhere near RWC again after the complete shambles of their 2011 telecast where it took second place to minor league games, and the commentary was awful.

Ah, a classic technique Brett - set the bar low enough and you'll never be disappointed.

I'm confused as to why they don't show all games which are played at horrific hours. In that I think more ppl would purposely get up for NZ vs a minow than re-runs of Mash/Gillian's Island.

I agree Brett, after what happened with channel 9 coverage in 2011 this is a welcome change!

Here I think Ireland games and the knockouts have to be on terrestrial. Coverage is far better this time as all games are on TV3. Last RWC most of it was on Setanta and if you have a Sky box to pick up ITV
