Perth Spirit vs NSW Country Eagles highlights: NRC scores, result

By Isaac Nowroozi / Roar Guru

Perth Spirit will be looking to make it three wins in a row when they host the New South Wales Country Eagles. Join The Roar from 6pm (AEST) for live scores.

Despite being last year’s grand finalists, the Spirit lost their first four this season, before finally ending the drought against Queensland Country two weeks ago.

This week they are coming off an impressive 10-point win over the Melbourne Rising, which could have been more were it not for only two of their five tries being converted.

The Spirit are gunning for a finals spot, and with only one more game left after this one, they cannot afford to lose.

The NSW Country Eagles are in the same boat. Having won only two of five games, and with only two games left to play after this fixture, it’s all-or-nothing.

After handing the Sydney Stars their first loss of the 2015 season a few weeks ago, the Eagles have been struggling, losing their past two.

Only scoring two tries in their eight-point loss to Queensland Country last week, the Eagles’ lack of aggression is costing them.

When these two faced off last season the Eagles edged Perth by six points in a highly entertaining encounter. With so much to play for, we’re in for another fun game.

They do. The Eagles have a black jersey. I thought it was fairly easy to identify who was who.

I thought the teams had alternate jerseys this year to avoid colour clashes - these two teams have very similar colours - both in yellow and black.
