2015 Presidents Cup: Final day live updates, blog

By gavjoshi / Roar Guru

The International team is in with a wonderful opportunity to win the Presidents Cup on the final day. Join The Roar for a live blog of all the action from the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea from 12:30pm AEDT.

The International team has played some scintillating golf after trailing 4-1 at the conclusion of the first day, and are now just one point behind.

They have been led by South African pair, Louis Oosthuzien and Brendan Grace, who both are undefeated as a pair after three days. They got the International them to 8.5 points, only narrowly behind the USA team (9.5).

With the fourballs and the foursomes now over the focus will shift to the twelve single matches to be played on the final day.

In the past four tournaments, the US have had a distinctive advantage heading into the last day. In fact, this is the smallest leading margin held by either side going into the final day in ten years.

With only one point separating the teams, this promises to be one of the most exciting finishes in the recent history of the competition.

Having won the competition only once in a previous ten occasions, the International team will be desperate to take this opportunity to claim a second victory.

Their only previous win came in 1998 when the event was held in Australia, at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club.

Current status: USA 9.5 points, International 8.5

The USA need six points to win, as the current holders they need 15.5 points to regain the Presidents Cup. The International team needs seven points.

Day 4: 12 single matches

US Team: Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson, Jimmy Walker, Zach Johnson, Ricke Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Patrick reed, Matt Kuchar, Chris Kirk, JB Holmes, Billy Haas, and Phil Mickelson.

International team: Jason Day, Louis Oosthuizen, Adam Scott, Hideki Matsuyama, Branden Grace, Marc Leishman, Anirban Lahiri, Charl Schwartzel, Thongchai Jaidee, Danny Lee, Steven Bowditch, and An Byeong-hun.

Lots of gruesome misses on the 18th today unfortunately - couple of Americans, then the Indian lad (critical for the contest) before Bae's chip, although he was only playing for a draw. Great win by Leishman over the world number one.

Grace is 2 UP has hit a lovely tee shot on the 17th par 3. Means Kuchar needs a 25ft birdie putt to stay in the match.

Kirk has gone past the hole, he has a 12ft for birdie putt, Lahiri birdie is only from 5ft, so advantage INT.

Leishman has a par on the 17th and Spieth has a 6ft for par to stay in the match. Spieth SINKS IT to keep the match alive. Leishman up by 1 heading into the 18th.

Crucial match on the 18th, Lahiri and Kirk are short of the green on the 18th after their 2nd shot. That match is all square. It is will come down to the chip and putt.

Zac Johnson has found the hazard and conceded the hole to Jason Day. So Day is only 2 down with 3 holes to play. Leishman is 15ft for birdie on 17th while Spieth has a long 25-30ft for birdie.
