It’s the Sydney Kings up against the might of Melbourne United on Thursday night NBL. Join The Roar from 7:30pm (AEDT) for live scores and updates.
Melbourne United have proven what they can do on the court with an undefeated record of 7-0, while the Sydney Kings are trying to get off the bottom of the ladder with a win.
Can Melbourne continue their unbeatable form against a desperate Sydney at the Qantas Centre Union Arena in Sydney?
Melbourne have obviously dominated the league thus far but Sydney have a lot of talent. We haven’t seen much from Al Harrington yet and he is going to play a big role for Sydney once he can adjust to the NBL.
Chris Goulding has been an absolute star this season draining three after three. He hit five in the first quarter last week and if he does that again he will be hard to stop.
Sydney have only secured the two wins so far this season. They have definitely got the talent but it just hasn’t clicked. Marcus Thornton needs to lift. He is trying to get back into the NBA and he is missing open three point attempts.
For United, the key is how well they can use Majok Majok. I think he needs to be more aggressive than he has been to be able to stop Julian Kazzouh for the Kings.
For the Kings, the key is Jason Cadee. He is a brilliant three point shooter who reads the play extremely well. Tonight though, it needs to be his defence that make the difference – he needs to be able to stop Chris Goulding if the Kings have any chance of winning.
Prediction:
Both teams are very good in transition so they will be looking to keep the ball safe and not force too many turnovers.
Both teams can shoot the ball very well and play in the post, so I think it is going to be a cracker of a game.
While the Kings have the home court advantage, I think that the undefeated United will prevail.
United by 12 points

Game Wrap Melbourne had the lead the whole game except when Sydney hit the front late in the first. United couldn't miss from the 3 point line and down low, it was the same story. For Sydney, i thought they played pretty well but United were just too good. Marcus Thornton had 25 points and took some really great sots for the kings. Garlepp played really on Majok but it was hard to stop Daniel Kickert who had a great night. The Kings have definitely improved but Melbourne are just unbeatable. I have no idea who they will lose to or if the even will!
