Match result:

Arizona Cardinals 23
Minnesota Vikings 20

What a game!

The Cardinals have secured the NFC West after defeating the Vikings 23-20 in one of the most entertaining games so far in 2015.

It was an equally matched game all the way until the final siren when Teddy Bridgewater fumbled in an attempt to get Blair Walsh in range for a field goal which would have taken the game into overtime.

The Cardinals join the Panthers as the only teams to have secured a playoffs spot.

The Cardinals have proven themselves genuine contenders to the undefeated Panthers with their impressive 10-2 record.

Arizona are just one win away from taking out the NFC West and will no doubt up their game in preparation for the playoffs. Bruce Arians’ team will ramp up their bid for the NFC Championship against the Vikings.

The Vikings may not have had the best 2015 season so far, with their offence proving the third worst in the league and their passing the second worst, but their saving grace has been their rushing, where they stand fifth – due mainly to Adrian Peterson.

However the Oklahoma Sooners graduate had a quiet game in the Vikings’ 7-38 loss to Seattle last week, totalling just 18 yards from eight rushes and six yards from four receptions.

Peterson should prove the difference, and Minnesota’s goal will be to ensure that he has at least 20 touches as they have gone 8-0 this season when the star running back has had at least 17 rushes.

With the fourth-best defence in the league, the Cardinals should easily break Peterson’s streak and ensure a post-season campaign.

The Cardinals have had an outstanding season so far, which has seen them become the best offensive team in the league, third for passing and eighth for rushing.

Quarterback Carson Palmer has been pivotal in Arizona’s rise, tallying 55 completions of over 20 yards, which puts him first in the league, and also 8.8 yards per completion, second in the league.

If Palmer and the Cardinals look downfield in attack, they should have no trouble in beating Minnesota.

Prediction
It will be a closer than expected game, however the Cardinals will run away with the win and the NFC West division title.

Cardinals by 10.
