Australia will be looking for quick early wickets on day four of the third Test against West Indies on Wednesday in an attempt to force a result in the rain-affected SCG Test.
Not a ball was bowled on the third day on Tuesday due to persistent rain and just 11.2 overs were bowled on Monday due to adverse weather.
Weather permitting, West Indies will start day four on 7-248 in the 87th over with Denesh Ramdin on 30 and Kemar Roach yet to score. James Pattinson has claimed 2-67 for the Australians and Nathan Lyon has 2-78

Despite the loss of almost two days due to rain in Sydney, allrounder Mitch Marsh said Australia aren’t yet ready to concede the match will end in a draw.
“A result is up to the weather gods. If we can get a full day’s play tomorrow and the last day we will certainly be playing for a result,” he said.
However they are unlikely to get any help from West Indies in the form of a sporting declaration or two, coach Phil Simmons said.
“”Haha. I used to hear about that in county cricket. I don’t know about it in a Test match,” Simmons said when asked about the possibility of a double declaration.
“We’ve got to see how much play we get tomorrow first. One side is telling me that there’s showers again in the morning then it will brighten up. Now I’ve just heard there might be showers in the afternoon too.”
