Match result:

The Cleveland Cavaliers bounced back from their loss to the Spurs with a 14-point win over the Houston Rockets, finishing their six-game roadtrip with a 5-1 record.

A consistent performance across all four quarters saw the Cavaliers better the Rockets who struggled to keep pace in the second and third.

The Cavaliers went down to the Spurs 95-99 yesterday which meant the end of what had been an eight-game winning streak, and allowed the Spurs to continue their perfect season at home so far putting them up to 23-0 there.

Cleveland now hold a 23-10 record but almost all of their losses have come on the road where they are 12-9 for the season. This match against Houston is the last game of a six-game road trip, their longest for the season, which they had won the first four matches of before their loss to the Spurs.

The Rockets are not so significant a challenge as the Spurs were however. They sit in the midtable region in the Western Conference on 21-19, though they do come into this match on a five-game winning streak.

In that time they’ve beaten Utah Jazz twice (93-91 and 103-94), the Indiana Pacers (107-91), the Memphis Grizzlies (107-91), and the Minnesota Timberwolves (107-104) – not all of them easybeats, though none on the level of the Cavaliers. Coincidentally, their last loss also came against the Spurs (103-121).

The chance to take a home court advantage against the Cavaliers and add a seriously impressive win to that streak is not one they’ll want to miss, though a 13-9 record at home so far this season is not the NBA’s most impressive.

The length of Cleveland’s roadtrip could become a factor in the match especially as it wears on. In their sixth consecutive road match, will they have the legs to see it out?

Prediction: Tipping Cleveland to win it, but could be very close. Cavaliers by 3.
