By Riley Pettigrew / Roar Guru

Both Agnieszka Radwanska and Monica Puig have had brilliant starts to 2016, but only one can progress when the pair do battle during the third round of the Australian Open. Join The Roar for live scores from around 3pm (AEDT).

Radwanska is undefeated in 2016, having won the Shenzhen Open during the first week of the new calendar year.

The fourth seed defeated Alison Riske in the final of the tournament 6-3, 6-2 before heading to Melbourne for the Australian Open.

So far, the Polish world No.4 had beaten both opponents in straight sets – Christina McHale in the first round, then Eugenie Bouchard.

Radwanska goes into this match the heavy favourite and is the frontrunner to set up a semi-final berth with likely Serena Williams or Maria Sharapova.

Puig meanwhile has had a dream start to 2016.

The Puerto Rican began her season with an early exit at the Auckland Open, before bouncing back at the Sydney International, defeating Samantha Stosur and Belinda Bencic to make the final, where she was defeated by Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-0, 6-2.

Puig began the Australian Open with a straight-sets win over Polish World No.93 Magda Linette, before defeating Kristyna Pliskova 4-6, 7-6, 9-7.

She is yet to come up against formidable opposition since arriving in Melbourne, meaning she is untested and likely to struggle against Radwanska.

Thhe winner of this, the pair’s first match against one another, will take on either of 13th seed Roberta Vinci or German Anna-Lena Friedsam in the fourth round.

Prediction
Puig will push the match to three sets, but Radwanska to ultimately win and go through to the next stage.
