The Cleveland Cavaliers who appear to be having some serious internal issues will host the Minnesota Timberwolves, who despite their season will be looking to use the problems in Cleveland to their advantage. Join The Roar for live scores from 11am (AEDT).

The Cavaliers, who still hold the best record in the Eastern Conference, as they have done for much of the season dropped a bombshell just a few short days ago by sacking head coach David Blatt.

The situation seemed to unravel from there for the Cavaliers, with problems in the locker room, and with the club and coach being voiced by those with sources in the media. Whatever is going on behind the scenes at Cleveland, despite their fantastic record it is clear that all is not well.

While the Cavaliers hold a record of 30 wins and 12 losses from their 42 games, they have managed to lose three of their last six. Having only played one game since coach Blatt was fired, they went down heavily to the Chicago Bulls at home. The crowd booed the team and it was generally not a good night for the Cavaliers.

From here, you have to wonder how they overcome the adversity.

The Timberwolves meanwhile, have had the completely opposite season to the Cavaliers out west. They sit second last out in the West, having only won 14 of their 45 games with only the Los Angeles Lakers holding a worse record.

After a nine-game losing streak, they have managed to win two from their last four with wins over the Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns.

The Timberwolves are one of the lowest averaging teams for assists in the competition and this won’t go well against a team with the defensive structure of the Cavaliers. Without a doubt, the key positional battle is Andrew Wiggins and Kyrie Irving who both control their sides and need big games for different reasons.

Last time these teams did battle it was in Minnesota, earlier this month with the Cavaliers walking away 26 point victors. It was a complete effort from the Cavaliers, and for the Timberwolves to compete, they must improve in all elements of their game from that effort.

Prediction
This could be a very, very one-sided game. At the same time, at home and facing the adversity of disgruntled fans might be the worst thing for the Cavaliers at the moment.

With the playing group seemingly in factions, you have to wonder if they will be able to play to their usual standards. While the Timberwolves aren’t at the same level as the Bulls, there is an upset on the cards here.

Timberwolves by 2.
