The Houston Rockets may get to welcome Dwight Howard back, but it doesn’t change the fact that their track record against the San Antonio Spurs is less than impressive, and that they Spurs are in red-hot form. Join The Roar for live scores from 12pm (AEDT).

The Rockets could well have a massive inclusion for this game with Dwight Howard pencilled down to return from injury. This one is a massive game against the Spurs and having one of their biggest stars on court would be a huge advantage.

Not having Howard out there will undoubtedly put extra pressure onto the shoulders of both James Harden and Trevor Ariza who have been doing a brilliant job in recent times of getting quality looks and setting the team in defence.

The Spurs also have a major injury concern, with Tim Duncan having sat out the last game and not looking much better for this one. Both of these sides sit in the top eight seeds of the Western Conference, although in vastly different positions. The Spurs sit locked in right behind the Golden State Warriors, sitting in second with a record of 38 wins and seven losses.

The Rockets meanwhile, are a further fourteen games back and for the time being must just focus on bringing back individual games, one at a time.

This will be the final game this season between the Rockets and Spurs. Coming into the fourth and final fixture between the sides, the Spurs lead the ledger two games to one. This, undoubtedly, is something the Rockets will work very hard on to try and square up.

Prediction
The Rockets are a quality side, and it might depend a little bit on the availability of the centres, Howard and Duncan. Both have influential input on their teams, however, you feel the Spurs have just a few too many strong elements of their game, and when you look at their recent form it is not hard to see wy they are being tipped.

Spurs by 8.
