The Los Angeles Lakers need to start winning if they want to avoid the dreaded last place of the Western Conference, but it won’t get any easier when they take on the NBA’s best team the Golden State Warriors.

Despite the fact that Kobe Bryant is on his season-long farewell tour, it has done more harm than good for the Lakers, who sit bottom of the west. With a record of 12 wins and 51 losses, it has been an incredibly difficult season.

The difference between Los Angeles and their opponents today, the Warriors is a grand total of 44.5 games. An absolutely incredible difference, and one of the biggest ever seen in the NBA. It dwarfs the Eastern Conference difference between first and last by eight games, even though the Philadelphia 76ers have only eight victories.

The Warriors of course have one big goal left for the season, having already mathematically qualified for the play-offs and that is to beat the incredible 72 wins and 10 losses all-time record, set by the Chicago Bulls in 1996.

With a run home featuring 15 of 22 home games, it is certainly doable for the Warriors but a game like this is not one they will want to be dropping.

Form, as expected by the teams respective records, contrasts at right angles coming into this game. The Lakers have lost 10 of their last 11, with that victory coming just three games ago at home against the Brooklyn Nets.

The Warriors meanwhile have won seven matches in a row, and 18 of their last 19. It has been another one of those incredible runs for the Warriors that they have strung together in between the odd loss and what makes it even more impressive was the fact a majority of those games were on the road.

Stephen Curry and Kobe Bryant are the keys to this game, but of course Curry has plenty of back up where as Bryant has some teammates firing but certainly not on a nightly basis.

The Warriors have already beaten the Lakers three times this season, winning the matches by 34, 21 and 18 points respectively. The Lakers have simply been unable to compete, with a massive difference in skill levels.

Prediction
Despite the fact the Lakers are the home team, it is simply impossible to back them or give them any hope in this game. The Warriors have too many scorers, and are too strong on the defensive end.

Warriors by 27.
