The Gold Coast Football Club was plagued by injuries in 2015, for instance to Jaeger O’Meara and Dion Prestia. While this hurt the side’s chances, it also provided some opportunities.

Aaron Hall was drafted by the Suns in the pre season draft at pick number 7 and the Gold Coast selection panel saw a glimpse of what the Tasmanian born teenager had to offer.

Hall hasn’t shied away from any opportunities which shows his resilience in a team full of stars. With the likes of Gary Ablett, O’Meara and Prestia surrounding him in his first few years in the AFL system, it was hard for Aaron to show his full potential.

He was played out of position and didn’t have the opportunity to show his true colours and show what he can bring into the Suns line-up.

With 61 games, and 55 goals under his belt, he has learnt from players such as Ablett what it takes to be an out and out star of the game. Now that Aaron has his opportunity he has taken it with both hands.

He recorded 18 disposals and a whopping 16 tackles in his second NAB challenge game against the West Coast Eagles. He accrued 29 disposals and seven inside 50s in his third NAB encounter against the Adelaide Crows.

He is showing signs of what is to come in the 2016 season.

Hall has always had the capabilities and skills to be at an elite level, but he hasn’t quite had the opportunity. Now with a few select gun midfielders out of the Suns line-up, he gets his chance – and he will take that with both hands.
