Coming off a disappointing 3-2 loss to Southampton in their last fixture, Liverpool know they cannot afford to lose with just a handful of games left in the season.

Liverpool went 2-nil up in the first half via goals from Phillipe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge, however gave up the lead in the second half in a terrible defensive performance.

The Reds can take some comfort in having two games in hand, giving them a slight advantage over the other sides fighting for the top four.

Liverpool will also have history on their side. The Reds have won five of their past six against the Spurs, and drawn once.

Sitting five points behind top of the table Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur will be desperate to close the gap before Leicester gets out of reach.

The Spurs are coming off a 3-nil win over AFC Bournemouth. Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen found the net as Tottenham cruised to victory.

Despite their goal-scoring form, the Spurs have only managed to score twice in their past six meetings with Liverpool. Those two goals came in a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Reds in February last year.

The last time these two sides faced off was last October. The match ended nil-all.

Both sides have plenty to play for, but Liverpool will have the home ground advantage, and a ton of confidence given their history against Tottenham. Expect a close game either way.

Prediction
Liverpool 1 – 1 Tottenham Hotspur
