The Cavaliers’ hour of reckoning is almost upon us.

They have taken out the Eastern Conference, but faced constant adversity, dropping far too many matches amidst calls of being a one-man team.

Their offence has been far too one-dimensional, and they have struggled for the consistency that wins championships.

However, none of the regular-season matters now, with the post-season kicking off in just a few days. Cleveland get an early look at their first-round opponent here, regardless of the result, as the Pistons can’t move higher or lower than eighth place after the Indiana Pacers beat the New York Knicks yesterday by 12.

Along with the Pacers winning, the Pistons fell in their match to the Miami Heat by just six points. The Pistons pushed hard for the win, as you would expect with so much on the line, but couldn’t execute their shooting.

The Pistons have been in decent form though, winning three of their last five games – both of those losses being against the Heat.

The Cavaliers, on the other hand, have had some worrying losses in the last week. They bounced back against the Atlanta Hawks in their last match, but for a team that has struggled to gel all season, a few poor offensive performances against the likes of the Chicago Bulls and Pacers is concerning.

Surprisingly enough, the Pistons lead the season series and a win here would seriously help them to build momentum moving into a tough playoff series. Winning one of those matches on the road, and going down by only eight points in the other will fill them with confidence.

LeBron James must be controlled if he plays, although both teams will probably rest key figures.

Prediction
Even though the Cavaliers will rest their whole starting team, they are at home and they will want to make a statement ahead of the playoffs.

Cavaliers by 9.
