Liverpool's Europa League loss is still a success

Jurgen Klopp arrived on the scene at Anfield with a struggling Liverpool side. Without any real financial support he was able to take them to a UEFA Europa League final.

Although Liverpool finished eighth on the Premier League ladder, and will play no part in European competition next season due to the loss at the hands of Sevilla, Reds fans are excited for the times ahead under Klopp.

The German joined Liverpool in October, 2015. At the time, Liverpool were sitting tenth on the ladder. Although Klopp only improved their position by two places, he had a bigger effect on the players. Klopp was able to get the best out of his players, in particular Divock Origi, Emre Can, Philippe Coutinho, James Milner, Mamadou Sakho and Roberto Firmino.

During Klopp’s first transfer window as Liverpool manager he signed a young player named Marko Grujic, labelled as ‘one for the future’. Grujic was loaned back to the club he was bought from, Red Star Belgrade, for the rest of the season.

As the next transfer window will be upon us soon many hope that Klopp can attract big players to Liverpool with huge potential to turn the Reds into a championship team. Players like Mario Gotze and Marco Reus, who have worked under Klopp before at Borussia Dortmund, would be great signings. Combined with young stars coming through like Jordon Ibe, Brad Smith, Origi, Joe Gomez, Jon Flanagan, Joao Carlos Teixeira and Danny Ings, Liverpool’s future looks bright.

Even though Liverpool lost the final to Sevilla this morning in the UEFA Europa League after a second half collapse, Klopp seems to be taking Liverpool in the right direction. With support from the board, Klopp will be able to bring in some big signings and use Liverpool’s youth to create a championship-winning team.

Will Jurgen Klopp bring glory to Anfield? Or will Liverpool remain a mid-table club?

Roarers, have your say.

Mid-table? They'll be back in Europe after next season. Agree that Jurgen Klopp is going in the right direction, although I can't see him attracting Reus or Gotze without the riches of Europe. :/
