Roosters NRL coach Robinson signs to 2019

The Sydney Roosters have extended NRL premiership-winning coach Trent Robinson’s contract by a further two years.

The announcement ensures Robinson will remain at the helm until the end of the 2019 season.

Chairman Nick Politis said the Roosters were fortunate to have one of the game’s most astute coaches.

“Trent is a man of high integrity whose unwavering pride and passion for the Sydney Roosters and the area we represent has cultivated a strong culture at our club.

“His strong leadership and resilience, especially at a time when our on-field performances have not been up to his or the club’s high standards, also says a lot about the type of coach that he is.

“But just as significantly, Trent has played a vital role in the development of all the players within our system, and it’s wonderful to know that he will continue to lead the Roosters for at least the next three years,” Politis said.

After guiding the Roosters to the 2013 premiership, Robinson said he was delighted to extend his tenure with the foundation club.

“The Sydney Roosters have been a big part of my football life, and it’s a privilege to hold this position,” said Robinson.

“That’s largely due to everyone involved with the club – from our chairman and board of directors – to all the players, staff, sponsors and members. There’s a committed team here and I’m proud to continue my role with the club,” he added.

If he keeps loosing he might not be as popular. These contracts seem to be not worth the paper there signed on. I think he is a good coach but if the team does not perform he will be the first to go
