PSG links with Neymar to replace outgoing Zlatan Ibrahmovic

PSG is set to hire in Brazilian dynamo Neymar from Barcelona and is on the verge of triggering a release contract, hovering around £153 million.

This rumor surfaces weeks after links Zlatan Ibrahmovic made it clear he wants to move out of Paris and was strongly linked to Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho’s desire to have him at Manchester United also made the report credible.

PSG’s desires to activate the release contract is quite obvious from their high European ambitions and to keep the streak of winning the Ligue One title. Even Neymar’s agent, Wagner Riberio, gave an indication that the Barcelona-star would be considering the move if any club is willing to activate the exact clause.

He said, “It’s huge. €193m (£155m). But I don’t think that would be an insurmountable problem for PSG.”

It is quite obvious that Nasser Al-Khelafi, the business-tycoon who hold the majority share at the Paris-based club, would look to hire in somebody who can replicate the magic of Ibrahmovic during his stint at Parc des Princes. He had scored an overwhelming tally of 113 goals for the club in just 122 outings, which is why Neymar becomes an obvious choice.

What makes Ibrahmovic’s move more certain, especially to United is the fact that the Old Trafford talisman Wayne Rooney is recovering from an injury. Plus he has previously worked under Jose Mourinho at Inter and his willing to exercise his exploits in the Premiership as well.

However in case the move fails Eden Hazard and Philip Countinho are also expected to be on PSG’s radar. After finishing as the second-highest goal-scorer for Liverpool, PSG made a move of £23 million which is believed to have failed, though they have suggested they are willing to improve the offer to make a permanent move.
