Queensland have secured the 2016 Sate of Origin series, winning Game 2 over NSW 26-16 at Suncorp Stadium.

It will be perhaps best remembered for Dane Gagai’s amazing hat-trick, the Queensland winger having spent the week under an injury cloud, although Johnathan Thurston’s conversions for two of those three from the sideline were arguably just as thrilling.

Tyson Frizell and James Maloney kept the Blues in the fight with tries, and the game was well in the balance for the vast majority of proceedings, but a try to Corey Oates sealed the match and the series.
