Match preview:

The high-powered Adelaide Crows attack takes on the struggling Brisbane Lions at the Adelaide Oval. Join us here on The Roar for all the action from 7:40pm (AEST).

The Crows will look to give themselves another big percentage boost in this one.

Adelaide have been one of the form sides in recent months, only losing the one game in their last nine outings, while the Lions have won just one game in the same amount of time, and only two for the entire season.

Furthermore, the Crows have held a recent dominance over the Lions, although in the two teams’ total history Brisbane have an edge of one game currently.

Brisbane will go in with low expectations of pulling off the upset, but with just a few weeks left before the end of the season they will be trying to at least finish 2016 on some sort of a high.

It should be a big game for the potent Adelaide forward line, especially as they are chasing every percentage point they can to get into the top four at the end of the season.

Prediction
Crows by 87.

Can the Lions do the near impossible and shock the Crows? Or Will Adelaide heap more misery on Brisbane? Join The Roar from 7:40pm.

But Souths played The top team tonight and only lost by one point. If Brisbane got within 100 points of Adelaide they would have seen it as a good result.

Match Report. Adelaide 27.15.177 defeated Brisbane 6.3.39. Adelaide have run out huge winners belting the hapless Lions by 138 points at Adelaide Oval, It took just 16 seconds for the Crows to get the first score on the board with a goal Charlie Cameron. Brisbane hit back a few minutes later to even the score up but that was as close as they would get for the remainder of the game. Adelaide kicked 7 goals to the Lions 3 in the opening term. Brisbane scored the first goal of the 2nd quarter but they would only kick 1 more for the quarter while the Crows opened up a commanding lead kicking another 7 goals for the term. Taylor Walker had 4 goals at halftime and Tom Lynch had chipped in with 3 more as Adelaide took a 64 point lead into the 3rd term. Brisbane only scored 1 goal in the 3rd term while Adelaide piled on another 8 goals and opening up a 100 point lead going into the final break. To Brisbane's credit they tried their best all night but they were just far too over matched and were not able to break the Adelaide defense enough to score. Again the 4th quarter was much the same with Adelaide just trying to increase their percentage to boost them into the top 4. with only 3 more weeks in the regular season to go. Adelaide would chip in with another 4 goals to Brisbane's 0. Adelaide now go on to face Fremantle in WA and Brisbane head home to face the Blues. The one downside to the win for the Crows is Paul Seedsman left the game early with what appeared to be a hamstring or leg injury. The extent of the injury is unknown but he may miss next week as a precaution. Final score. Adelaide 27.15.177 Brisbane 6.3.39 Roar MVP, Tom Lynch 3 Brad Crouch 2 Rory Sloane 1 Leading Goals. Adelaide Taylor Walker 4 Eddie Betts 4 Tom Lynch 4 Brisbane Rhys Mathieson 2 4 others with 1 goal. Thanks for making it to the end Sam. Maybe Brisbane should just merge with GC and become the Sun Lions. Or should they just make it two comps (first and second division) so the top teams don't have to get bored kicking goal after goal against the bottom dwellers. If the AFL are trying to fix the problem then they are not trying hard enough. The Comp is way too uneven.

Souths nearly beat the team coming first tonight. I am not an NRL troll. I appreciate a good game of AFL. But there are too many shellackings. Most NRL games are contests. So many AFL games are just percentage boosting training runs for the top teams.

This is as bad as it gets. I've supported the lions for 25 years and even when we were the Bears we weren't this bad I'm not expecting miracles but I do want to see us try if essendon hadn't lost half its team we would be so far below the next worst team. The AFL says the draft equals out the comp we will not play finals for the next 5 years. Leppa will get sacked this week guaranteed

Not sure how you can blame Gillon McLachlan for this as its been a long time coming. Lions also made some poor trade choices as well going back to Fevola days and its going to take awhile to rebuild. While the Crows have made some good trade choices since. Look where the Demons were a couple of years back and today they managed to beat Hawthorn. GWS (3rd) only just got home against the Suns (14th). and back to the NRL there's been plenty of lopsided results like last weekend Canberra v Souths 54-4.

The AFL is trying in some ways but there are just some teams no one wants to play for. Brisbane have a lot of problems from top to bottom and there is not much the AFL can do for that sadly. Introducing the 2 new teams a few years back has not helped matters either as teams that have needed the talent have missed out and the already strong teams have just gotten stronger.
