The women’s 100m freestyle final at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will take place on Friday, 12 August, at 12:18pm (AEST).

If you are wanting to view the women’s 100m freestyle final, it will be broadcast live on TV on the Seven Network and will also be available via a live stream online, or using the Olympics on 7 app.

The Seven Network has exclusive rights to televise events from the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and is doing so on all three of its channels – 7, 7TWO, and 7mate.

As a major swimming event, Seven will certainly be broadcasting the women’s 100m freestyle final on one of their channels – likely the main Channel 7.

Of course, you have also got the option of live streaming Seven’s coverage of the event, if you’re not looking to watch it on TV. This is possible to do for free, via one of two different routes.

Your first option is to watch the live stream online – simply go to Seven’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games live-streaming website and select the appropriate channel.

The other choice is that you can instead use the Olympics on 7 app. This gives you access to the same live stream on mobiles or tablets, and is available on both iOS and Android.

There are two Australians who are in the running to qualify for the final, and they are Cate Campbell and Bronte Campbell, sisters who were part of Australia’s successful 4x100m freestyle relay on Day 1 of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

It has been 12 years since an Australian last claimed gold in the event, when it was won by Jodie Henry at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.

Since then it has been won by Britta Steffen of Germany and Ramoni Kromowidjojo of the Netherlands at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games.

Australia boasts the only won to have won the even more than once: Dawn Fraser, who won the event in three consecutive Olympic Games. They were Melbourne 1956, Rome 1960, and Tokyo 1964.
