The finals of the men’s 200 breaststroke, women’s 200 Butterfly, men’s 100 free and women’s 4x200m freestyle relay will headline Day 5 of swimming competition at Rio Olympics.
Can Cameron McEvoy or Kyle Chalmers become the first Australian to claim gold in the men’s 100m freestyle in 48 years? Join The Roar from 11am AEST to find out as we update the results of each race in our live blog.
The Campbell sisters will also be in action in the 100m freestyle semi-finals, with Cate having broken the Olympic record in the heats earlier this morning.
Bronte will be after some revenge on big sister too – so expect some quick times.
Madeline Groves and Brianna Throssell will appear in the final of the 200m butterfly, with Groves qualifying fastest. Watch for Groves to go out early and take a lead and try to hang on. It should be a cracking race.
But the really big one as far as Australia are concerned is the men’s 100m freestyle. It’s all about Cameron McEvoy, USA’s Nathan Adrian and our own young gun Kyle Chalmers.
McEvoy is the fastest man in the world this year, as well as the world champion. Realistically he’s the favourite, but we all know what Nathan Adrian did to James Magnussen (also the favourite) four years ago.
It was a disappointing day in the pool yesterday, but there should be some better chances today. Follow our live blog right here for updates on the men’s 100m freestyle and plenty more on Day 5 in the pool

America will be unbeatable in the 4x200m freestyle relay with Katie Ledecky anchoring.
Looks out for Japanese swimmer Natsumi Hoshi to take 200 Butterfly.
