After clinically topping Group C, South Korea will be determined to progress through to the semi-finals in their Olympic campaign but will have to get past an equally gallant Honduras outfit. Join The Roar from 7:45am (AEST) for live scores and commentary.

South Korea showcased some excellent football in their group stage matches, kicking off the campaign strongly with a dominant victory over minnows Fiji before defeating the reigning gold medalists Mexico in the final round to secure their spot on top of the table.

In the process the Koreans also held off a very determined German side, sharing the points in quite a valiant performance.

The 2012 Olympics saw the Koreans finish third claiming the Bronze Medal, however this time around they will be keen to go a few steps further with a few of their players having gained experience and playing regularly for big teams throughout Europe.

Honduras meanwhile progressed in quite a euphoric fashion, edging past Argentina in their final match in the Group stage.

The two South American nations sat on equal points ahead of their match with Honduras having the better goal difference.

Honduras managed to see off the 2008 Beijing Gold Medalists with a one-all draw allowing them to progress via a superior goal difference.

In their previous matches the South Americans opened their Olympic campaign in favorable fashion defeating Algeria 3-2 before going down to group leaders Portugal.

Meanwhile, South Korea also did well to see off football powerhouse Germany, holding on for a 3-3 draw.

Neither side has ever won gold in Olympic gootball and so are presented with a great opportunity to rectify previous efforts and go all the way.

Honduras were knocked out in the quarter-finals at the London Games while South Korea picked up the Bronze medal.

At the end of the group stages South Korea had scored a whopping 12 goals and only conceded three. The Koreans so far are proving to have one of the most threatening attacking line-ups, many of their stars finding their way on to the scoresheet numerous times.

Bayer Leverkeusen forward Ryu Seung-woo scored a hat-trick in his sides 8-0 win over Fiji, while star playmaker and Tottenham Hotspur winger Song Heung-min found the back of the net twice whilst also being a valuable and prolific aspect of the South Korean line-up.

The Honduran players will be reliant on the experience and leadership of Romell Quioto, one of their mature players in the tournament. Quioto has represented his nation on a number of occasions since his national debut in 2012 and will be a key player in midfield for Honduras to progress to the semi-finals.

With both sides doing their bit in edging past gootball powerhouses in their groups, this encounter is nonetheless one to look forward to with both nations determined to progress and take out the gold in Rio.
