The first time Manchester City won England’s top-division title since the Premier League era started, was in 2011/2012.

We all remember that fateful day when Sergio Aguero secured the victory for the Sky Blues in the final seconds of the match, to finally split the difference between the two Manchester clubs.

Manchester City has no doubt become flooded with money, particularly in the last decade.

In September 2008, Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan took control of the Manchester City Football Club after his company, the Abu Dhabi United Group successfully purchased the club. Commonly known as Sheikh Mansour, the Arabian has a net worth of over 20 billion pounds. He leads the list of the richest people in the football industry.

And ever since 2008, Manchester City has grown dramatically as a club.

The Sky Blues have acquired some serious talent in recent years, sparing no expense. Players such as Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and more have joined the club for large amounts of money.

This has seen City reach a point where, in terms of their current squad, their depth and talent is unreal.

Although City has gained a reputation for being a club that has only seen success in recent years since their money arrived, no football fan can deny that they do play attractive football.

The partnership between David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne is at times, unstoppable.

Similarly, an in-form Aguero, who is currently the favourite for the EPL’s Golden Boot, is often just too hard to defend.

While a strong defence including Nicolas Otamendi, Vincent Kompany, John Stones and more, is seen as a difficult challenge for many teams’ attacks. And finally, the reputable Pep Guardiola scares nearly all teams in global football.

With a 2-1 win against their arch-rivals, the Red Devils, Manchester City sit on top of the EPL standings. Although the game had looked likely at one point to end in a draw, City was simply too dominant for their Manchester counterparts. The Sky Blues deserved the win, simply outplaying United.

And I expect the wins to keep on coming.

This season, I am tipping Manchester City to win the Barclays Premier League and to make the top eight in the UEFA Champions League at least.

What are your opinions on Manchester City, Roarers? How do you think they will perform this season?
