Sydney expect to find out more about the severity of injuries sustained by Jarrad McVeigh and Gary Rohan, and their availability for the rest of the AFL finals, on Monday.

McVeigh (calf) and Rohan (knee) were injured in the Swans’ comfortable 36-point win over Adelaide at the SCG on Saturday night.

The duo’s fitness – as well as that of Kurt Tippett (jaw) and Callum Mills (hamstring) – is a key issue for Sydney as they prepare for a preliminary final against Geelong at the MCG on Friday night.

“It doesn’t look like anything structural with Gary at this stage, which is good,” Swans football chief Tom Harley told ABC Grandstand on Sunday.

“We’re confident it’s not an ACL … I think we can be reasonably confident about that.

“But I’m reluctant to go into too much detail at the risk of saying something incorrect.

“Jarrad has what appears to be a minor calf strain … we’ll assess that on Mornday morning.

“So it’s too early to call but one thing I do know is we’ll be putting as much time and effort as we can into getting those boys up.”

Tippett and Mills didn’t play against the Crows but Harley said neither had been ruled out of the preliminary final.

Swans coach John Longmire will address the media at 9.50am.
