The A-League season is scheduled to kick off on October 7 where Melbourne Victory will face the Brisbane Roar. Both Melbourne clubs are looking dominant before the season has even begun.

Melbourne City, sub partnered club of Manchester City, have signed a whopping 11 players in the pre-season transfer window.

Some of these notable players include Neil Kilkenny from Preston North End, Nicolas Colazo from Boca Juniors, Luke Brattan from Manchester City and superstar Tim Cahill from HZ Greentown.

This is in addition to the already powerful squad Melbourne City have, with big names such as Fornaroli, and Gameiro. Powerhouse midfielder Aaron Mooy has made his move to Huddersfield as we all already know, where he has already helped the club to the top of the ladder.

Melbourne Victory are another club with force heading into this A-League season. Five new arrivals made their travels to the club this pre-season transfer window. A few of these signings include Marco Rojas from Stuttgart II, and Socceroo James Troisi from Liaoning FC.

Players that have already graced the squad such as Besart Berisha and Khalfallah are now there in addition to some quality signings.

Not to deny the talent of all other clubs, specifically the Sydney clubs, however no one can doubt that both Melbourne clubs are in contention of finals this upcoming season.

What do you think Roarers? Have the teams from Melbourne got one hand on the trophy already or will their off season recruitment drives not be enough?
