The Spurs have started life without Tim Duncan in solid fashion. They haven’t played since their home loss to the Clippers where they were comprehensively beaten across the court.
They are expected to get Tony Parker back after three games out through injury to his right knee. Kawhi Leonard has been doing plenty of work on the offensive end, averaging 26.4 points a game.
Danny Green has yet to play this season and could be a welcome addition after suiting up for practice this week.
James Harden has been on fire for the Rockets early this season. He has had at least 30 points and ten assists in four consecutive games, which is the longest streak since Michael Jordan with five consecutive games in 1988-89, so he is in rarified air.
If he is at his best again then anything is possible for the Rockets tonight. His current statline makes him the first Rockets player to record double-digit assists in four consecutive games since Steve Francis in 2000-01.
Houston doesn’t have a great record when it comes to recent history in San Antonio, with the Spurs claiming their last four games against the Rockets.
Prediction
Even with Harden in fine form, the Spurs will be too good in this one.
Spurs by 6.
