Australia second row James Horwill has extended his contract with English rugby union team Harlequins until 2020.
Horwill has proved a success since arriving at the Twickenham Stoop from Queensland Reds in 2015 and has agreed an additional three years with the English Premiership club.
The 31-year-old, who won the most recent of his 62 caps against England in June, has made 33 appearances for Harlequins.
“From the moment James joined Harlequins 18 months ago, he has shown himself to be both a world-class player and an outstanding leader,” director of rugby John Kingston said.
“His infectious enthusiasm and drive illustrates exactly why he captained Australia on 16 occasions and he has proved a shining example to the rest of the squad.
“In extending his contract to the summer of 2020, he has crucially committed himself long term to the Harlequins family.
“This signing is a statement of our intent for the coming years.”

I think Rt also, he's adjusted to his new physical condition after his horrible double injury (snapped hammies).

Has been one of Quins best week in week out. Thought given his performance in the RC was very very very unlucky to miss out on the RWC and I thought we missed him. Reminds me of Sharpe. Gets better when he's told we don't need him. Hope he gets a run sometime next yeah on EOST. Always liked him. The more responsibility you give him the better he gets.

definitely a better leader than Mowen or Moore. but as a player he was up and down like Elsom.
