There are three certainties in life: death, taxes and Bob Hawke skolling a beer at the cricket. And the former Australian Prime Minister didn’t disappoint on Day 2 of the third Test.

Possibly the most well-loved political figure in Australia, Hawke was spotted by TV cameras at the SCG during play in the third Test between Australia and Pakistan, sitting comfortably in a nice chair with a cold beer in hand.

Classic Bob.

Once those pictures were put up on the big screen inside the stadium, it didn’t take long for the adoring Aussie public to start throwing “Hawkey” and “skoll” chants around the place.

Famous for legitimately owning a beer drinking world record during his university days, the next time the cameras panned across to the former PM, he duly sunk the beverage in no time.

What makes the feet that much better, is that Hawke is 87 years young, but I doubt that will ever stop the legend from downing a schooner before lunch.

Of course, Hawke has some form at the SCG. He was caught in a similar situation back in 2012, where a few of the well-lubricated crowd members encouraged the former PM to skoll a beer. Needless to say, Hawke didn’t disappoint back then, either.
