I loved Buckley as a player and really want him to succeed but I just can't see anything changing next year. There's no light at the end of the tunnel.

It was insipid, inept, embarrassing football. We did of course see flashes of the type of football they are capable of. Cunning game plan, held his nerve, under enormous pressure. I'm keen to see the Magies win a game before the seasons out. Another win would mean they have improved on last year ever so slightly and Buckley has a case to stay.Going backwards after recruiting some senior players to fill certain holes isn't a good look. Collingwood do look ok at times though which is probably more a worry than a good thing in this instance.

I like this Peter the Scribe bloke, his stand up comedy routine on a Monday morning is a fantastic start to the working week. I'm good mate's with 5 Collingwood supporters and not one of them shares the same views as Peter about Buckley.

Never a chance! Good teams beat Port Adelaide anytime, anywhere! Injuries might provide mitigating circumstances but not against this mob. Wells, Varcoe, Greenwood, Pendles? Will they still be around when next you challenge? I think not!

Well rewarding Nathan Buckley with an extension will surely see fans not renewing memberships en mass . Why would you? These would have to be the most boring unsuccessful years in our Club history! Our Club is now more resembling a stacked self distructive ALP Branch ruled by a self serving power obsessed faction, rather than a Footy club where fans are really able to enjoy their membership. Our entire family will walk from Collingwood if he is reappointed. It is not him as a person, it is the bloody principle. Performance or lack of it must have consequences. It seems, like Australian politics, Collingwood has very little issue with our performance over the last five years. I note that some of those voices calling for his extension have themselves failed as coaches or on field leaders. Interesting stuff! Time to make the right call. If he is extended and we lose one game, the same debate about his tenure will start again so quickly that it will prolong the instability and make things worse.

Days of playing through the middle and long bombs to the forward line are long gone I'm afraid, even if you happen to have Buddy or Daniher in your side. The plan from Bucks and the coaching staff was quite clear....deprive the Power of the ball in the first quarter as they are the third strongest first qtr team. You need to stop them getting a few goals clear early and getting the crowd and then umpiring behind them. With literally a third of their best team out and then two injured players to carry by qtr time, it was a bold and cunning plan that worked beautifully. Of course there will be turnovers when you are doing that but the fact is with minutes left we were in with a chance against on % a top 4 team. As stated, if we had won with a makeshift side against a side with virtually no injury list, it would have been the greatest coaching performance of the season.

I feel sorry for you Peter... you are going to be extremely disappointed again next year if Buckley is still coach...i dont think anyone hates buckley but if i was as mediocre as that i wouldve rightfully be out on my ear 3 years ago as would any other coach not Nathan though Mr Eds little mate....but i cant wait for mext years excuses... players not listening to game plan, injuries, media, be careful Peter the scribe , buckley might try to blame you somehow. Yes now suddenly Nathans trying to talk up how well his team has done...trying to use the media to keep his job because he thinks collingwood is his .between him and Mr Ed they have hijacked Collingwood and 5 years is enough and if he continues to coach everyone who can see through this debacle i suggest just dont go to the footy. I think many dont already ..its obvious membership is down because Mr Ed wont release Membership numbers because most (apart from Peter the Scribe)are dissillusioned by the state of affairs at Collingwood ..buckley cant handle possibilty of Ross Lyon coaching pies... which i think by the way would be a mistake.. i think Stuart Dew is the man for this job...

And 55 clangers according to AFL stats. Is this under 12's football? Crisp does it a number of times every game without fail - the whole team running forward, and he hands it over under no pressure. It absolutely kills you, not only the opportunity to score, but the momentum of the game. He should not be playing seniors football. When we break quick and go direct, we look good. When we fanny about kicking backward and sideways, we inevitably screw it up and give the opposition a scoring opportunity. Which unfortunately seems to be Buckley's game plan. And if it's not his game plan and they do it anyway, then they are not listening. Disgraceful football.

Agreed - most of the game we were poor, very poor. Almost comical at times. That's the Collingwood that we've seen for the vast majority of the last 6 years. The Collingwood that was ahead of Adelaide by 50 points, and that we see flashes of on each game, are the Collingwood we could be if we had a decent coach. If losing the next 2 games is what it takes for Buckley to go, then so be it. I welcome Peter the Scribe's response and spinning another insipid performance into an honourable effort and proof Buckley should stay.

An incredible performance by Buckley actually without Wells, Grundy, Pendlebury, Greenwood, Varcoe against a full strength finals bound side in sir home deck. Orchestrated a cunning game plan first quarter of keeping possession at all cost to stop them getting a run on....held nerve in the second and a big run at it in the third. Still in the game with minutes left with his injury depleted side. If they had won, perhaps one of the biggest coaching performances of the season. Will be re-signed for 2-3 years regardless of any hate comments in here. So optimistic for this team going forward now. A few tweaks in the off season and off we go for a huge 2018. Well done Bucks under enormous pressure.
