Brisbane City will be playing to keep their season afloat when they host the struggling Greater Sydney Rams in Brisbane on Sunday. Join The Roar for live scores from the match starting from 3pm AEDT.

In a round where mismatches seem to be the order of proceedings, Brisbane City look to be firm favourites against the Rams, who, after starting the season with great promise, have been struck down with injury and illness, now finding themselves firmly entrenched in the bottom third of the table.

Brisbane City need to win to keep their finals hopes alive, and in a pivotal game, they have an embarrassment of riches at their disposal – not least in the form of Wallabies Quade Cooper and Karmichael Hunt at 10 and 12; Nick Frisby at halfback is also no slouch.

In the forwards, Kane Douglas provides grunt from the second row, while Sam Talakai will have the eyes of the Melbourne faithful on him – with social media yesterday announcing his move to the latte state for season 2018.

For the Rays, they field a 5th halfback in 7 games, in what has to be some sort of national rugby competition record. Mack Mason returns to five-eighth, shifting Jay Ayoub to the bench.

Where the game will be won
The depth of Brisbane City. I think this Rays outfit isn’t as bad as the ladder would suggest. Jed Holloway has been arguably the player of the tournament, and they have decent qualities across the board. However, their lack of depth could hurt them in the last third of this match, the City bench looks far too strong for the Sydney outfit.

Prediction
City to push into the top four and tilt at the finals. Quade Cooper to star.
