The New England Patriots will host the Atlanta Falcons in a re-match of last years Super Bowl in the Sunday Night (Monday AEDT) game. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 11:30am Monday AEDT.

The two sides have only met on a handful of occasions, with the Patriots holding an 8-6 lead. Including the infamous Super Bowl win of last season when they were down 28-3.

The Patriots have only improved on their side since the big dance in February. But the on-field results don’t show that. They are 4-2, having won their last two games. They haven’t dominated anyone like we expected and could struggle in this one.

The Falcons, were 3-0 before the bye, before going down twice, including a demoralising loss to the Dolphins last week. They will be a much better side for it and will surely lift for this one. Watch for QB Alex Smith the make amends for his Super Bowl effort last season.

This game will be the game of the round. What a great way to end the Monday morning games.

This is all about redemption for the Falcons. They have proven they have grown in 2017 and will need to overcome this hurdle to puss for a spot in the playoffs.

Falcons to win this one. 27-17

      Patriots win 23-7.
The New England Patriots have showed tonight why they are the most successful team in recent years. They have disposed of the Atlanta Falcons for the second time in six months and have regained the lead in the AFC East, with a dominate performance.
They held the Falcons scoreless until mod-way thru the fourth quarter, despite being penalised on twice as many occasions. They were just simply too good. That is there third loss in a row.
The Falcons have a lot to work on in the coming weeks and will need to bounce back quickly.
Thanks for joining us today. Enjoy the rest of your Monday.
      Until next time.

As much as it pains me to say, they are starting to look like the team we all know and hate. They don’t have a weakness across the park.
