Day two in the Women’s Ashes Test was an interesting day. Both teams will look to gain the upper hand on a crucial day three. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 2:30pm (AEDT).

England finished day one at 7 for 235, Australia were quick and bowled England out for a modest 280. The Australian team were happy to have England back in the sheds, with the bowlers sharing the wickets. This was a great result for Australia after half-centuries from Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight.

Australia went into bat looking to build, however, this was not this was not the case. The England bowlers had a good line and length and were rewarded with Australia struggling at 3-61.

Great bowling from Laura Marsh who had figures of 28 overs for 28 runs and was rewarded with the crucial wicket first wicket. Further, Sophie Ecclestone who is on debut in this game claimed three wickets, a great achievement.

Then the superstar of Australia cricket Ellyse Perry, came to the crease. She stabilized the Australian batting with a 70. She will be looking to go on and crack the century mark and look to build Australia a lead in the game.

Australia however will be disappointed with the form of Alex Blackwell and Rachael Haynes not carrying forward into the Test game with some poor dismissals.

Day 3 will be a crucial day in this Test with Australia needing to build a lead, while England will look to close out the tail and look to build on their lead and then hopefully, bowl Australia out again.

The pitch is providing nothing and therefore this match will is looking towards a draw, however, we are all hoping for an exciting game of Day-Night Test Cricket.

Day 3 prediction
Australia with Ellyse Perry and Alyssa Healy at the crease chase down the England total and Australia have a slight lead. Although with Marsh and Sarah Ecclestone this might be a hard case.

England will then bowl them out and put the foot down in their batting in order to try and win this Test to save the Ashes Test.
