Match result:

The Jillaroos have moved into the Rugby League World Cup Final after an expected victory against the Canadian Ravens at Southern Cross Group Stadium.

In what was a predictable game, the home side looked as dominate as ever and put the visitors to the sword in the first twenty minutes.

The second-half was a more impressive effort from Canada, as they held the Australians for long periods and managed to get over the line themselves.

Natasha Smith was excellent for Canada and the Australians were solid right across the park with Caitlin Moran providing the impetus for many of the attacking movements that made the Canadian defence look average.

The Aussies march on to face New Zealand in the final and the Canadians will hold their heads high after an improved performance, considering the flogging they copped mid-week.

Final score
Australia 56
Canada 6

After an 88-0 drubbing four days ago. Canada will look to a much improved performance against the most powerful women’s team in the world. The real dangers for Canada will be their confidence levels after such a hammering and the fatigue factor.

The Australian are running on top of the ground and will look to pile on the points again. Whether they play a full strength team or rest a few for the tough final against, most likely, New Zealand next Saturday will be interesting.

However, knowing the passion in the team and the limited opportunities to play international football, it seems unlikely many of the girls will want to miss out on this one.

In what will be another training session for the Australians, it will be interesting to see how the Canadians react to the loss mid-week and let’s hope they show a bit of fire and steel and really take the game up to the Aussies.

Prediction
Framing a points margin is the real challenge in this one with the Australians certain winners. It is hard to see the Jillaroos taking their foot off the pedal yet Canada may have learned a few things from the previous match.

Australia 64, Canada 6
