Despite a strong start from Canberra against Gold Coast last week, the Raiders got sloppy at the end of the game, and it ended up costing them a win.

The Green Machine scored three tries in the first ten minutes, and added a fourth to go into halftime ahead 24-12.

However, two errors late in the game led to Gold Coast clinching the match in the 79th minute.

The pressure is on Ricky Stuart’s men to perform, and they will have to do so without back-rower Joseph Tapine, who misses the game due to a broken finger.

Newcastle will have the momentum going into the match, coming off a stunning golden point over the Sea Eagles.

Mitchell Pearce secured the points via a 88th-minute field goal after an intense game.

The Knights don’t have a great record at Canberra, and have only won five games at the nation’s capital since 1988.

However, no injuries and an unchanged squad from last week means that unlike the Raiders, they will be at full strength.

Prediction
The Raiders could only manage 40 per cent possession against the Titans last week, and only had a completion rate of 69 per cent.

They have points in them, but will need to hold onto the ball against Newcastle.

The Knights are still trying to get their new-look team to gel together and if they can keep a hold of the ball and apply pressure that way, they’re in with a shot.

Either way, expect a intense, close game.
