The visitors have had the upper hand in terms of form both against City and recently. The Wanderers and City drew last time out at AAMI Park although the Wanderers got a win on the board against Warren Joyce’s men beating them 2-1 at ANZ Stadium when Oriol Riera and Mark Bridge were on the scoresheet.
Centre-forward Riera is the form player for the Wanderers, although he missed out last week due to injury he has scored four goals in his last four games.
He’s back in the squad this week however key midfielder Marcelo Carrusca is omitted due to a quad strain and right-back Josh Risdon is away on international duty for the Socceroos.
Bruno Fornaroli didn’t have the football Gods on his side in the City of Churches last week, having his penalty saved and a goal ruled out for offside by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR). Stefan Mauk got City a point in Adelaide with his third goal of the season.
City haven’t found any consistent form since the beginning of the year winning only four games in 11 in 2018 as Bruce Kamau returns to the match day squad after it was announced he and fellow City teammate Run Tongyik will be joining Western Sydney next season.
